Neighborhood Institute Sponsor Spotlight: The Inn at the Colonnade

April 30, 2014

innFor the third year in a row The Inn at the Colonnade generously donated their beautiful space to host Greater Homewood’s Neighborhood Institute. We continue to be grateful for the support of this great neighborhood asset.

First of all, thank you so much for hosting the Neighborhood Institute for the 3rd year in a row. Can you tell us a little bit about why the Colonnade is dedicated to supporting this event?

The most important reason is that we feel it is great to give back.  I feel that people in the Greater Homewood area do not realize what we have available at The Inn at the Colonnade, particularly our excellent restaurant and bar. The Neighborhood Institute is both our method for giving back and to show the community all we have to offer.

Tell us a bit more about the Inn, what special services do you offer, and what amenities are on site?

Our restaurant the Alize American Bistro is a real gem. Among the features are an intimate setting, stylish surrounds and the opportunity to indulge in modern American cuisine with a creative twist. Some of the menu items include small plates, salads, pizza, and fresh fruit drinks can be found in our lounge menu.

What do you love most about being located in Greater Homewood?

I appreciate that guests of our hotel can feel safe walking around the Greater Homewood area. We do not have to be concerned about what direction we advise our patrons to travel in. Additionally, there are some great bars and restaurants within walking distance, particularly on Charles st.

Can you share a funny or interesting hotel story with us?622A5019

After a game with Hopkins, The Albany Lax team wanted an after party inside because it would be too cold to be outside for a party at 9PM.  I said, you’re from Albany isn’t it a lot colder there?  Or is it that you don’t want to hang out at the bleachers after losing to Hopkins?

What is one thing you would like community members to know about the Inn?

I wish more people from the community would try us out, and eventually consider us as a major attraction in the region. In particular, the happy hour at our bar can be a very fun time, for neighbors to gather.
