Honoring History with Art is Unveiled at Barclay School

October 3, 2011

On Thursday, September 22, more than 100 people gathered at Barclay Elementary/Middle School to unveil “Honoring History with Art” – a mosaic mural created by community members, students, parents, and staff under the guidance of Community Artist Tamara Payne.

“This mural ‘began’ three years ago with an idea, and the beautiful reality of it today speaks to what it means to be a Community School,” says Kelly Oglesbee, Community School Coordinator at The Barclay School. She continues, “This is community art created by and for this school and its community.”

Funding for the project was provided by PNC Bank and the Baltimore Office for Promotion and the Arts.
