Baltimore Education Coalition: Unite for Our Schools!

Baltimore’s schools are in a crisis due to significant UNDERFUNDING, and city students are expected to meet state standards (Common Core/PARCC) without being given the resources that is guaranteed to them by the state constitution. WE NEED ACTION NOW!

The Baltimore Education Coalition (BEC) is hosting UNITE FOR OUR SCHOOLS on November 29th to ensure that our elected officials, both local and state level, make a new and improved state education funding formula a top priority for the 2018 and 2019 legislative sessions.

Mayor Pugh, Dr. Santelises, members of the Delegation, City Council, and the School Board will be in attendance.

The state’s Kirwan Commission, tasked with developing a new education funding formula, will have policy recommendations by the December 31st deadline.  However, the commission announced that it will not have time to cost out their policy recommendations until next year. BEC will be working to pass certain pieces of legislation forward THIS session.

SPACE IS LIMITED – Please RSVP by November 22nd

Childcare will be provided, please RSVP for your child.

Light refreshments will be provided.
