Director of Fiscal Sponsorship

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Director of Fiscal Sponsorship will be responsible for overseeing the coordination and administration of all aspects of Strong City Baltimore’s fiscal sponsorship program ensuring team management, program delivery, quality control, and program evaluation. The Director of Fiscal Sponsorship will manage a growing staff of 3.

Adult Basic Ed/GED Instructor (Adult Learning Center)

Immediate need for an experienced Secondary Education/Adult Education instructor to teach one or both sections of our multi-discipline GED class.  This class meets daily Monday through Thursday, from 9 am to 10:30 for math and science and 10:45 -12:15 pm for language arts and social studies.

Instructors are responsible for developing and implementing GED focused lesson plans.  Instructors are expected to differentiate and prepare activities for students of all learning styles and adhere to the Maryland College and Career Readiness Standards for Adult Education. Other responsibilities will include monitoring student attendance; identifying and addressing barriers to learning and progress; referring students to our tutor service as appropriate; and participating in professional development activities. Instructors are expected to incorporate appropriate texts based on students’ abilities and skill levels, as determined by standardized assessment and learner goal setting; and collaborate with the ABE Instructional Specialist for instructional support and the Intake & Assessment Specialist on class enrollment and management.

Bachelor’s degree required. Education degree and certifications preferred. Experience with Adult education strongly preferred. Classes are six – twelve hours a week; position is part-time contractual. Adult Basic Education Instructor (Adult Learning Center)

Adult Basic Education (ABE) Instructors are responsible for teaching classes of eight to fifteen learners in reading, writing and math during six to twenty week class sessions. ABE Instructors monitor student attendance, barriers to learning, and progress, including appropriate documentation and reporting of outcomes; utilize appropriate texts based on students’ abilities and skill levels, as determined by standardized assessment and learner goal setting; and collaborate with the ABE Instructional Specialist for instructional support and the Intake & Assessment Specialist on class enrollment and management. Bachelor’s degree required. Education degree and certifications preferred. Experience with Adult education strongly preferred. Classes are six – twelve hours a week; position is part-time. English Language Acquisition Instructor (Adult Learning Center)

English Language Acquisition (ELA) Instructors are responsible for teaching classes of eight to fifteen English language learners in speaking, listening, reading, writing, and pragmatics. ELA instructors monitor student attendance, barriers to learning, and progress, including appropriate documentation and reporting of outcomes, utilize appropriate materials based on learners’ abilities and skill levels, as determined by standardized assessments and learner goal setting, and collaborate with the ELA Instructional Specialist for andragogical support and the Intake & Assessment Specialist on class enrollment and management. Experience teaching adults, familiarity with English language instruction, sensitivity to adult learners’ needs, and a commitment to empowering Baltimore’s English language learners desired. Classes are six hours a week; position is part-time.
