Clubs Starts School Year With New Bus, Renovations, and Fall Festival

September 21, 2020

A scholar checks out the new bus.

The Club at Collington Square started the school year with some excitement in the form a of a new bus. Club supporter Will Zerhouni donated the funds for the bus. The bus will used to transport scholars, once they are allowed to have field trips again; pick up and deliver food to the community; transport staff to professional development opportunities, and support The Club with additional transportation as needed.

Despite most Strong City staff working from home these days, the Hoen Lithograph Building got some use and love during the first week of school from scholars. The three row houses that make up The Club at Collington Square are receiving some much-needed renovations. Scholars aged K through 12 enjoyed the spacious main conference room, WIFI, and some Chromebooks for after school supplemental education and activities.

The Club’s Fall Festival is October 3 at noon at the Hoen Lithograph Building parking lot, 2101 East Biddle Street. This annual event is a celebration of families and community with socially distant games, food, and shopping from local vendors. Food sales and other proceeds will go to benefit The Club. Wearing masks and social distancing will be required. See you there!
