Club at Collington Summer Camp Brings Joy to Kids Struggling Through Pandemic

July 31, 2020

The Club at Collington has been open throughout the pandemic, connecting families with resources, providing academic enrichment and meals to scholars, and serving as a meal distribution site for East Baltimore.

In early July, Club staff welcomed back 47 scholars for the summer session. After extensive planning and preparing, The Club will safely provide summer reading, academics, meals, and play to scholars K through 5.

While most summer camps and youth programs have scaled back or canceled altogether, The Club has expanded its services. It now serves as a hub for food distribution, resource center for residents seeking rental, income, and COVID-19 testing assistance, and, of course, an out of school time program.

Recently scholars took a trip to Woodberry Crossing to experience goats, donkeys, chickens, and bunnies.
