Building Blocks: Stories of Neighborhood Transformation

Strong City’s mission is to build and strengthen neighborhoods and people. Doing community organizing in Baltimore for 50 years has demonstrated that building the capacity of neighborhood and grassroots leaders is the path to lasting change. Building Blocks uses the unique, compelling stories of Barclay, Harwood, Remington, and the York Road Corridor to give people the tools to improve their own communities.

Partner With Us

Classes in Adult Basic Education (ABE) and English Language Acquisition (ELA/ESL/ESOL) to Baltimore residents, all at no cost to the learner.

The Center for Neighborhood Innovation, housed in a historic factory building, will bring together a critical mass of community members, social entrepreneurs, nonprofits, service providers, and researchers committed to solving challenges facing Baltimore’s neighborhoods.

An afterschool and summer program and a consistent, loving, educational haven for 128 children in a disinvested neighborhood.
